Overview
A development store is a free store for development and testing based on the SHOPLINE premium plan. You can create an unlimited number of development stores to test your themes or apps, as well as tailor development stores for specific merchants and earn attractive commissions as rewards.
Categories
Development stores are categorized as follows based on their usage:

Development stores for testing: Used for developing and testing your apps or themes. You can choose whether to populate the development store you created with default test data. The development stores for testing are not transferable.

Development stores tailored for specific merchants: Allow you to set up and test store configurations for merchants before transfer. Once the store is transferred, merchants must subscribe to a SHOPLINE plan to use the store. Upon successful transfer, you can earn a commission.

Features
When creating or testing development stores of both categories, you can do the following tasks:
- Create an unlimited number of orders used for free testing
- Experience most of the features included in the SHOPLINE premium plan
Limitations
Development stores have the following limitations:
- Development stores that you create are based on the SHOPLINE premium plan and you cannot change the plan, but merchants can change the plan after transferring stores to them.
- Once you transfer a development store to a merchant, you no longer qualify for the free trial of that development store.
- You can share your development stores with others for browsing. Visitors can access the store through a specific password, but you cannot edit the password or remove the password page to allow direct access to the store.
- You cannot change the domain name of a development store that has been already created successfully.
